Introduction

MFM recommends that you use a PC Access® for Windows Broker or Agent version with PC Access Flyer. However, you may be able to run PC Access Flyer with a PC Access for Windows 4.30 Network version.

Before you attempt to use PC Access Flyer with a PC Access for Windows Network version, keep the following in mind:

  • MFM does not provide technical assistance with these instructions. MFM does not guarantee that PC Access Flyer will run with a Network version of PC Access for Windows. If you experience errors, MFM Technical Support cannot assist you. In addition, your MLS and FNIS Technical Support will not assist you.
  • Do not run PC Access Flyer on more than one workstation.

Install into a PC Access 4.30 Network Version

  • Note: the following instructions assume that you installed PC Access for Windows 4.30 Network version to the server (X:\PCAWIN). In addition, you are able to run PC Access for Windows on your workstations without any errors.
  1. Install PC Access Flyer to the hard drive on one of your workstations. Install PC Access Flyer to the C:\PCAWIN directory. If the C:\PCAWIN directory does not exist, allow the installation program to create the directory. If you need assistance, see: Installing PC Access Flyer. When you finish installing PC Access Flyer the installation program displays the following error:
        File Error
        Cannot find REGCODE.DLL

  2. Click Cancel to exit the installation program.
  3. Open an MS-DOS Prompt or Command Prompt window:
    • Windows 95/98: click Start | Programs | MS-DOS Prompt
    • Windows NT 4.0: click Start | Programs | Command Prompt
    • Windows ME: click Start | Programs | Accessories | MS-DOS Prompt
    • Windows 2000: click Start | Programs | Accessories | Command Prompt
    • Windows XP: click Start | Programs or All Programs | Accessories | Command Prompt
  4. Use the following commands to copy the files (shown below) from the PC Access for Windows executable directory on the server (X:\PCAWIN) to the PC Access for Windows executable directory (C:\PCAWIN) on the workstation's hard drive:
        COPY X:\PCAWIN\REGCODE.DLL C:\PCAWIN
        COPY X:\PCAWIN\L*.DLL C:\PCAWIN
        COPY X:\PCAWIN\PCAWIN.LIC C:\PCAWIN
        
  5. Next, install the PC Access Flyer User Authorization. The User Authorization will install to the PC Access for Windows executable directory on the server (X:\PCAWIN). To get started, insert the PC Access Flyer Disk 1 into the workstation's floppy disk drive. Type the following command:
        PCAWINUA.EXE /PCAFLYER
        
  6. Click Install from the Flyer User Authorization Manager window. This will install the PC Access Flyer User Authorization.
  7. Copy the PC Access Flyer User Authorization from the PC Access for Windows executable directory on the server to the PC Access for Windows executable directory on the workstation:
        COPY X:\PCAWIN\PCAFLYER.EKB C:\PCAWIN
        
  8. Next, copy the PC Access Flyer executable file into the PC Access for Windows executable directory on the server:
        COPY C:\PCAWIN\PCAFLYER.EXE X:\PCAWIN
        
  9. Create a Windows Desktop shortcut to C:\PCAWIN\PCAFLYER.EXE. If you need assistance creating a shortcut, see this article from the Microsoft Knowledge Base (MSKB): Article Q140443: How to Create a Shortcut on the Windows Desktop.
  10. Edit the following fields on the PC Access Flyer shortcut on your Windows Desktop:
        Target:   C:\PCAWIN\PCAFLYER.EXE <AGENTDIR>
        Start in: C:\PCAWIN
        
    Replace <AGENTDIR> with the name of your Agent Directory. The name of your agent directory may be all or part of your first or last name.
  11. Run PC Access. Click the Flyer button on the PC Access for Windows Main Menu window to run PC Access Flyer. PC Access for Windows will import the MLS photo(s) from the Flyer data download.
  12. After PC Access for Windows imports the MLS photo(s) into PC Access Flyer, PC Access for Windows will display the following error:
        Flyer Accessory Not Installed
    
          Sorry! PC Access could not locate the Flyer
          software program component. To order the
          software or to request more information, call
          (in the U.S.) 1-800-876-6367 or (in Canada)
          1-800-268-4217 Ext. 259 today!

  13. Click OK to return to the PC Access for Windows Main Menu.
  14. Run PC Access Flyer from your Windows Desktop shortcut. PC Access Flyer will import the remaining data downloaded from your MLS system.
