Introduction

When you installed PC Access® Flyer the installation program installed files that contain sample listing data. You can use the listing data in these files to get started with PC Access Flyer.

Before you use the sample listing data, keep the following in mind:

  • PC Access Flyer requires PC Access for Windows versions 4.20.132 and later, or version 4.30.147 and later. If you do not know what version of PC Access for Windows you are running, see: How to Determine your PC Access Version and Build Number.
  • PC Access Flyer works with PC Access for Windows Agent and Broker versions. We do not have a PC Access Flyer network version available.
  • Before you can download listings from your MLS, your MLS must support PC Access Flyer. Contact your MLS for more information.

Install the Sample Listings Files

You can use either one of the following methods to install PC Access Flyer and the Sample Listings Files:

Windows Method

  1. Install PC Access Flyer to the PC Access for Windows executable directory, C:\PCAWIN. If you need assistance, see: Installing PC Access Flyer.
  2. After you install PC Access Flyer, open Windows Explorer:
    • Windows 95/98: click Start | Programs | Windows Explorer
    • Windows NT 4.0: click Start | Programs | Windows Explorer
    • Windows ME: click Start | Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer
    • Windows 2000: click Start | Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer
    • Windows XP: click Start | Programs or All Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer
  3. In Windows Explorer go to the PCAWIN folder.
  4. Hold down the CTRL key and click on these files:
    • SAMPLE.FLY
    • SAMPLE.FLI
    After you select both files, you can release the CTRL key.
  5. Locate your Agent Directory. The name of your agent directory may be all or part of your first or last name.
  6. Right-click on your Agent Directory and click Paste to copy the SAMPLE.FLY and SAMPLE.FLI files to your Agent Directory.
  7. You can run PC Access Flyer and access listing data from the Sample Listing Files. For more information about PC Access Flyer, see: PC Access Flyer 1.02 Reference Guide.

DOS Method

  1. Install PC Access Flyer to the PC Access for Windows executable directory, C:\PCAWIN. If you need assistance, see: Installing PC Access Flyer.
  2. After you install PC Access Flyer, open an MS-DOS Prompt or Command Prompt window:
    • Windows 95/98: click Start | Programs | MS-DOS Prompt
    • Windows NT 4.0: click Start | Programs | Command Prompt
    • Windows ME: click Start | Programs | Accessories | MS-DOS Prompt
    • Windows 2000: click Start | Programs | Accessories | Command Prompt
    • Windows XP: click Start | Programs or All Programs | Accessories | Command Prompt
  3. In the MS-DOS Prompt or Command Prompt window, type the following command:
      C:
      CD\PCAWIN
      
    to go to the PCAWIN folder.
  4. Type the following command to copy the Sample Listings Files to your Agent Directory:
        C:\PCAWIN
        COPY SAMPLE.* .\<AGENTDIR>
        
    In the above command, replace <AGENTDIR> with the name of your Agent Directory. The name of your agent directory may be all or part of your first or last name.
  5. After you copy the SAMPLE.FLY and SAMPLE.FLI files to your Agent Directory, you can run PC Access Flyer. For more information about PC Access Flyer, see: PC Access Flyer 1.02 Reference Guide.
