Introduction

If your PC Access Broker or Agent Version has invalid entries in the [Network] section of the PCAWIN.INI file, you may see the following error message when you start PC Access:
The [Network] shared path in PCAWIN.INI points to the non-existent directory: C:\PCAWIN

How to Correct a Network Shared Path Error

Windows 95, 98, and NT users:
  1. Exit PC Access for Windows.
  2. Click Start | Run.
  3. In the Run window, type PCAWIN.INI next to the Open: field. Click OK.
  4. In the PCAWIN.INI Notepad window, scroll down to the [Network] section.
  5. In the [Network] section look for the following lines:
        localPath=
        sharedPath=
        
  6. The localPath= and sharedPath= lines should be blank. If your localPath= and sharedPath= lines contain a path similar to: C:\PCAWIN, remove the path.
  7. When you finish your localPath= and sharedPath= lines should look like:
        localPath=
        sharedPath=
        
  8. Click File | Save to save your changes.
  9. Click File | Exit to close the PCAWIN.INI Notepad window.
  10. Run PC Access.
