User Authorization Error 8001-0009-000D

The User Authorization 8001-0009-000D error occurs when:
- You previously installed a PC Access for Windows
Demo Version on your computer.
- Then you installed a "real" version of
PC Access for Windows over
the existing Demo version.
If the both of the above statements are true, you may see the following error message:
- Fatal Error: 8001-0009-000D
Internal Error!
To correct the above error see:
Correcting a User Authorization Error in Windows 95, 98 and/or NT, or
Correcting a User Authorization Error in Windows 3.1x.
If you receive one of the following error messages:
- Fatal Error: 8001-0009-0003
Invalid User Authorization on Hard Drive!
- Fatal Error: 8001-0009-0000
Cannot Read User Authorization!

- Click Start |
Programs |
MS-DOS Prompt.
- In the MS-DOS Prompt window, enter the following commands:
CD \PCAWIN
CD "AX NF ZZ
ATTRIB *.*
After you type in the above commands, a list of files will display on
your screen. Look for the file: PCAWDEMO.EKB.
- Note: If your computer has the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file,
continue with step 3.
- If your computer does not have
the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file, and you
experience a User Authorization Error, see:
User Authorization Error 8001-0009-0000 or 8001-0009-0003.
- Type the following commands to remove the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file from your hard disk:
ATTRIB -S -H PCAWDEMO.EKB
DEL PCAWDEMO.EKB
- Next, you need to remove the
PCAWDEMO.EKB
file from your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1:
- Insert your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1 into your 3.5" diskette drive. Type
the following commands:
A:\
CD "AX NF ZZ
ATTRIB *.*
After you type in the above commands, a list of files will display on
your screen. Look for the file: PCAWDEMO.EKB.
- Note: If your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1 has the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file,
continue with step 6.
- If your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1 does not have
the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file,
continue with step 7.
- Type the following commands to remove the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file from your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1:
ATTRIB -S -H PCAWDEMO.EKB
DEL PCAWDEMO.EKB
- Type:
EXIT
to close the MS-DOS Prompt window and return to Windows.
- Click Start |

PC Access for Windows | PC Access for Windows.
- Complete the information on the
Register PC Access for Windows window.
- Use the
Setup Assistant to set up PC Access.
- From Program Manager, click File |
Exit Windows.
- In the MS-DOS Prompt window, enter the following commands:
CD \PCAWIN
CD "AX NF ZZ
ATTRIB *.*
After you type in the above commands, a list of files will display on
your screen. Look for the file: PCAWDEMO.EKB.
- Note: If your computer has the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file,
continue with step 3.
- If your computer does not have
the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file, and you
experience a User Authorization Error, see:
User Authorization Error 8001-0009-0000 or 8001-0009-0003.
- Type the following commands to remove the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file from your hard disk:
ATTRIB -S -H PCAWDEMO.EKB
DEL PCAWDEMO.EKB
- Next, you need to remove the
PCAWDEMO.EKB
file from your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1:
- Insert your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1 into your 3.5" diskette drive. Type
the following commands:

CD "AX NF ZZ
ATTRIB *.*
After you type in the above commands, a list of files will display on
your screen. Look for the file: PCAWDEMO.EKB.
- Note: If your PC Access for Windows

- If your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1 does not have
the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file,
continue with step 7.
- Type the following commands to remove the
PCAWDEMO.EKB file from your PC Access for Windows
Disk 1:
ATTRIB -S -H PCAWDEMO.EKB
DEL PCAWDEMO.EKB
- Type:
EXIT
to close the MS-DOS Prompt window and return to Windows.
- Click Start |

PC Access for Windows | PC Access for Windows.
- Complete the information on the
Register PC Access for Windows window.
- Use the
Setup Assistant to set up PC Access.
