Error 8001-0009-0006 Agent and Broker Versions

Introduction

PC Access® for Windows may display the User Authorization 8001-0009-0006 error when all of the following conditions are true:

  • you are using an Agent or Broker version of PC Access
  • you are using version 4.20 or 4.30
  • your Agent or Broker version uses the Machine Tie User Authorization method
  • you installed PC Access to a Network drive.

If you need to determine what version of PC Access you are using see: How to Determine your PC Access Version and Build Number.

If you installed your Agent or Broker version to a network drive (for example: X:\PCAWIN), PC Access may display the following error:

Fatal Error

   User Authorization Error
   8001-0009-0006 <- Write it Down!
   Cannot run PCAWin on this medium!

Correcting User Authorization Error 8001-0009-0006

To correct a User Authorization Error 8001-0009-0006, install your Agent or Broker version to a local drive on your computer. For example: C:\PCAWIN. You cannot install a PC Access Agent or Broker version to a network drive.
